Author Interview

Meet a New Author – Interview Hop

I’ve been invited to participate in a Author blog hop. It’s a weekly ‘tag you’re it’ deal. This is my week and I was tagged by Nina Ceves. I met her in an Author Facebook Group and we quickly became close after a few Facebook chats. As new authors, we’re going through this crazy writing world together.

Nina has 3 novels out now and you can check out her books on Amazon HERE

I’ve been asked to answer 4 questions about myself!

1. What am I currently working on?

Next week, my very first novel Cheating to Survive will be released. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am. But this is only Book 1. Every Five Years, Book 2 in the series, is next and will be published at the end of August.

2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?

My romance novels have women with attitude. They have problems like everyone else but decide to take things into their own hands. Sure they make mistakes along the way, but their quest to become strong and independent, along with some endearing quirks, make them everyone’s heroines.

3. Why do I write what I do?

I was tired of hearing stories of pathetic women throwing themselves at loser guys. I was tired of hearing about men cheating on the women and the women crying and begging the men to take them back.

4. How does your writing style work?

I have to make an outline, that’s the only way. I follow Larry Brooks 8 plot points and plan it all out on paper so that I know where everything should go. I also like Blake Snyder’s Save the Cat story outline as well. But then the fun part comes: making up all the stuff that goes into the outline. I get my best ideas while driving to work.

Now to introduce 3 authors that you should follow on their journey’s. These 3 authors all have something in common:

  1. I only got to know them recently
  2. I’ve never met them
  3. They all live too far away to visit
  4. BUT, they are so special to me and I feel like I’ve known them for a lifetime. They’ve helped me tremendously on my journey, and I only hope I can help them on theirs. I call them my friends and I hope that one day, our paths will cross.

1. Danielle

My name is Danielle Rose-West. I live in the United Kingdom with my family and my little dog, who is very much a part of the family. I have always been a dreamer and an incurable romantic with a vivid imagination. When I was a child, I was always reading. If anyone ever went looking for me, they usually found me curled up somewhere with a book! Most times when they spoke to me, I didn’t hear a word they said (my sister never believed me about this, but I honestly never heard her!). I was too wrapped up in the adventures I was reading.

When I was growing up, I wanted to be either an author or a librarian. I never made it as a librarian, but ended up in office work instead. It has taken a long time for me to finally realise my dream to write, but I’m finally here. I now write romance with a magical or suspenseful twist and I am planning on breaking into time travel. I like things that have something a little out of the ordinary about them in both my reading and my writing preferences.

These days I spend most of my time plotting new books and characters as well as enjoying finding out where my characters are going to take me in the story. I don’t always know how everything will develop, sometimes they surprise me. Some of the things that have happened in my books have been totally unexpected surprises that suddenly hit me while I was writing or quite often when I was awake in the early morning hours. I love it when that happens. The whole book just comes together as if by magic.

When I’m not writing and plotting, I love to spend time with my husband and family. I love to read, of course, and to watch enjoyable films or TV. I also love walking. It’s great exercise and helps me clear my mind.

My biggest wish is to entertain my readers and leave them with happy hearts at the end of the book and a wistful sigh of romantic bliss. If I achieve that for them, I’m happy!

3. Jennifer

Jennifer Ammoscato is a paid, productive member of society. Frankly, it’s not enough. Therefore, she wrote her debut novel, “Dear Internet: It’s Me, Avery.”

During the day, she is an intrepid writer/editor for the public relations department of a Canadian university. By night, she fights crime and the urge to organize closets and stuff herself with salted chocolate caramels. She is married to her husband, Ezio. As opposed to someone else’s husband (insert name here). She is the proud mom of two very tall sons.

Like them on Facebook or drop them a line. They’d love to hear from you.

And so do I…

The greatest compliment you can give me is when you share this with others. If you’re excited about the book release, please share!

    1. Can you believe it?? I can’t! 🙂
      Thanx for all your support!

  1. OMG! You and Beth Jones are my heroes. Congratulations!

I HAVE TO stop procrastinating and get my s$#t together. I have two months before my birthday, and I am making it my goal to get another book published by then…probably one on freelance writing. (Don’t have to overthink that one, like I do the novels that are in various stages of non-completion.)

I am doing an author blog hop with Sheila this week– so time to really examine what I am doing and where I am headed.

Cannot wait till Cheating to Survive is released!
